The question
ANCHOR is New Jersey's $2.2 billion property-tax relief program. Relief only helps the households that actually receive it, which raises a practical question: using public data, can we estimate how many households might be missing out?
What I built
A cloud-based simulation of the program, built on publicly available government data and deployed on Microsoft Azure. It models more than 1,000 households across all 21 New Jersey counties.
What it found
The analysis identified a potential 27% participation gap. The word potential matters: the figure is a modeled estimate from public data, not a measured count.
The findings were shared with New Jersey state agencies to support discussion of program access and outreach.
My role
Independent project. I carried out the research and developed the platform.
